The Hollywood .22LR Compensator is designed specifically for Ruger-style .22 platforms, using a precision washer-timed mounting system for a secure, repeatable install—no set screws, no complicated hardware, and no unnecessary complexity.
This version focuses on simplicity and performance. By eliminating the set screw system and utilizing steel spring washers, the compensator installs cleanly and maintains proper alignment under use, making it a reliable option for both range shooters and higher-volume setups.
Machined in-house at Stoner CNC, the Hollywood .22 features a 2-port design with integrated radial cuts, engineered to actively redirect gas and control muzzle movement—delivering real performance, not just visual appeal.
Key Features
- 2-Port Design with Radial Gas Control
Dual top ports paired with radial cuts are engineered to redirect gas upward and outward, reducing muzzle rise, stabilizing the pistol, and improving shot-to-shot consistency during rapid fire. - Steel Spring Washer Installation (No Set Screw)
Uses precision timing washers to properly index and secure the compensator—simple, repeatable, and dependable. - Balanced Weight Profile
At 3.2 oz, the added weight is intentional—helping mimic the feel and stability of a Ruger target-style setup for improved control and consistency. - Compact Length
Measures 1.36 inches, maintaining a streamlined profile without adding unnecessary bulk. - Precision Built in the USA
Manufactured in-house at Stoner CNC with tight tolerances and a focus on consistency and quality.
Performance
The Hollywood .22 is designed to keep your Ruger platform flatter and more controllable, especially during faster shooting. The 2-port system paired with radial gas dispersion helps drive the muzzle down while stabilizing the pistol through follow-up shots.
Combined with the added forward weight, the compensator improves sight tracking and overall control without making the firearm feel unbalanced.
Whether you're running drills, shooting steel, or just putting rounds downrange, this compensator is built to perform—not just look the part.
Training Tool Functionality
The Hollywood .22 isn’t just built for performance—it also serves as a practical training tool.
With .22LR, shooters can get high-volume reps at a fraction of the cost of centerfire ammo, allowing more time spent building fundamentals like grip, sight tracking, and recoil control.
- Performance Setup
Configured to reduce muzzle rise and keep the pistol flat for faster, more controlled follow-up shots. - Training Setup
By changing orientation, the compensator can be configured to increase muzzle movement—forcing the shooter to actively manage recoil, improve grip consistency, and build better control.
Combined with the added forward weight, the system helps simulate a more stable target-style setup while reinforcing proper shooting mechanics.
This isn’t about replicating another caliber—it’s about building real control through repetition.
Compatibility
The Hollywood .22 is designed around the Ruger platform for optimal fit, balance, and overall appearance.
It is compatible with most firearms using standard 1/2x28 threads, including:
- Taurus TX22 (Standard, Compact, Competition)
- Ruger Mark Series (Mark IV / 22/45)
- Ruger SR22
- Walther P22
- Smith & Wesson M&P 22 (Compact / 15-22)
- And other compatible platforms with 1/2x28 threads
Fitment Note
While the Hollywood .22 will function across a wide range of compatible platforms, it was specifically designed around the Ruger 22/45 Mark IV Lite.
Fit, alignment, and overall appearance may vary depending on the host firearm.
Caliber Compatibility

- .22LR
- .22WMR
- .17HMR
- 5.7x28mm

Installation Options (3 Ways to Run It)
You’ve got three ways to install the compensator depending on how you want it to perform:
1. Steel Spring Washers (Recommended)
- Highest locking force
- Most secure under hard use
- Best overall performance and what we recommend
- Requires both washers installed (they create a spring preload when compressed)
2. Large O-Rings
- Medium locking force
- Good balance of retention and flexibility
- Designed for models with longer threaded barrels
- Only one O-ring needed for install
3. Small O-Rings
- Lightest locking force
- Cleanest/lowest-profile look
- Best for lighter use setups
- Not recommended for high-rate setups (like FRT use)
Notes
- Steel spring washers will last the longest due to material durability
- Rubber O-rings are wear items, so an extra set is included
- Proper installation matters. Check the install video to see correct orientation and compression setup
